Sidelights on Sayers
The Society’s Journal is Sidelights on Sayers and is published annually. Articles may be submitted by members only. The Annual Dorothy L Sayers Lecture given at the Essex Book Festival may appear in Sidelights.
Copies of Sidelights are available from the Society with cost varying depending on date of publication. Some Sidelights articles are also available on JStor, an academic repository. For further information or an index to the various articles and topics, please contact the Society.
Members of the Society have full access to digital copies of Sidelights as listed in the Members’ area of the website.
Proceedings of the Annual Convention
Each year, the Proceedings, or a selection of papers presented at our annual convention, are published. Some may be available digitally and others in hard copy. The index to this publication and Sidelights is available on application to the Society.

Taking Detective Stories Seriously
Taking Detective Stories Seriously is a collection of reviews written by DLS for The Sunday Times, edited by Martin Edwards. The reviews of Golden Age writers, including Agatha Christie, Margery Allingham, Georgette Heyer and Ronald Knox, demonstrate DLS’ wit, understanding of the genre and her close reading of the texts.
